Danny Kirchoff graduated with a BA from Antioch College in Yellow Springs, OH in 2000, after which he moved to San Francisco, CA where he worked at both the Horizons Foundation and Equality California. He also served on the LGBT Advisory Committee of the San Francisco Human Rights Commission and the board of directors of the Transgender Law Center. Danny attended law school at the City University of New York (CUNY) School of Law where he was both a Haywood Burns Fellow in Civil and Human Rights and Point Foundation Scholar. During law school Danny interned at the Sylvia Rivera Law Project, the Economic Justice Project, the Transgender Law Center, and the Disability Rights Project of New York Lawyers for the Public Interest.
Danny is currently an Equal Justice Works Fellow at the Transgender Law Center. During his fellowship Danny will implement Project Access. The project will provide legal services to low income transgender Californians across the state, decrease barriers to the economic self-sufficiency of CA’s transgender community by working with social service providers, and increase the legal community’s capacity to represent low income transgender clients by proving trainings and formalizing TLC’s network of cooperating attorneys.
