Matt Wood is a Staff Attorney at the Transgender Law Center where his work focuses on employment, health, public accommodation, and education law. Prior to working at TLC, Matt was an associate at a small civil litigation firm in San Francisco that served the LGBT community, and also worked in development for the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission. In addition to his law degree, Matt has a Ph.D. in American Studies. He was the lead attorney on the 2012 EEOC decision, Macy v. Holder, which confirmed that Title VII’s prohibition on sex discrimination applied to transgender employees. He is a member of the Legal Advisory Committee of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), and has served on the San Francisco Human Rights Commission’s LGBT Advisory Committee, as well as on the Boards of Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom (BALIF) and the Gay and Lesbian Historical Society of Northern California.
