Jill Marcellus

Jill Marcellus is Director of Communications at Transgender Law Center. Jill’s work is grounded in a commitment to transformative media organizing, and since joining TLC in March 2015, Jill has worked to challenge and expand public narratives around gender, educate reporters, and support transgender and gender nonconforming people in sharing stories authentically and effectively.

Jill honed a professional passion for storytelling that advances racial, gender, and educational justice as Communications Manager at GSA Network, a national LGBTQ and racial justice youth leadership organization. Prior to joining GSA Network, they fought for a more inclusive media landscape at the Women’s Media Center, blogged for the Wall Street Journal’s “Hire Education,” and wrote and conducted research for findingDulcinea.com. Jill earned a BA in English from Barnard College and studied Victorian literature and history at Oxford University on their path to social justice activism through badass narrative.
