We are overwhelmed by your tremendous display of love and generosity!
678 generous donors opened their hearts and wallets to support our Give OUT Day campaign, garnering tremendous resources and visibility for our trans and gender nonconforming (TGNC) communities! It’s because of YOU we had the second highest number of donors nationally and took First Place on both the Bay Area Leaderboard for Large Organizations and the Equality Card Leaderboard – A PHENOMENAL ACCOMPLISHMENT.
Your support also boosted our kindred organization Southerners On New Ground, who took Third Place on the US South Overall Leaderboard, and highlighted the importance of TLC@SONG’s work of fighting for direly needed legal protections for TGNC communities in the South. Our Bay Area community partners like TGI Justice Project and El/La Para Trans Latinas also excelled on Give OUT Day as a result of your support, with TGIJP placing Third on the Bay Area Small Organizations Leaderboard and El/La experiencing a record breaking surge in individual donors.
Altogether, our Give OUT Day contributors gave an incredible $42,219 and helped us win an additional $8,000 in prize grants. That is $50,219 total to support our critical work – healthcare access, employment nondiscrimination, protecting TGNC youth in schools, freeing detained trans immigrants…and more.
We are grateful for our incredible volunteer fundraisers who rocked the house! They were Ian Anderson, Becky Benton, Bobbi Daley, Brielle Darynn, Masen Davis, Shawn Demmons, Mark Huggins, Jade Juhl, Gretchen Lintner, Min Matson, Diane Nero, Jane Nevins, Noris Chavarria, Jacob Richards, Melanie Rowen, Alix Sabin, Gwenyth Searer, Tommy Statkiewicz, Gina White, Theresa Witherspoon, and Timpano William. An additional huge round of thanks to our amazing challenge donors Chris Bone, Tamsyn Waterhouse, Charlie Rounds & Mark Hiemenz, Jason Franklin, Lé Walker & Kate O’Hanlan, Kris Hayashi, and anonymous donors.
Horizons Foundation, Bolder Giving, Equality Card, the Harnisch Foundation, Kevin J. Mossier Foundation, North Star Fund, and We Work also deserve our deep gratitude for creating and sponsoring Give OUT Day and generating vital resources for the national LGBTQ movement. In total, over $700,000 was generated for LGBTQ causes from over 11,000 individual donors. It was an unprecedented showing of support for the communities we serve.
Thank you for investing in Transgender Law Center and sustaining our crucial work to advance the rights of TGNC people and, ultimately, to ensure that our communities survive, thrive, and prosper.
