Isa

Transgender Law Center is thrilled to announce that Isa Noyola, who for the last year has led the organization’s immigration and movement-building work, has assumed the role of Director of Programs. For 13 years, Transgender Law Center has used an integrated set of approaches, including strategic litigation, policy advocacy, educational efforts, movement-building, and programs to advance the movement for transgender and gender nonconforming people.  Isa’s new position reflects Transgender Law Center’s emerging work as a multi-disciplinary organization committed to creating concrete change in the lives of those members of our communities who are most marginalized.

“In my role as Director of Programs at TLC, I hope to explore new and exciting opportunities for this work, while honoring the unbearable loss of leadership and talent our communities have suffered and continue to suffer daily,” said Isa. “My decision to do this work was not a career choice but a matter of survival, and I am committed to picking up the torch that has been violently taken away from my sisters.”

“Isa is a tremendous leader who deeply understands how our many different identities as transgender and gender nonconforming people impact the way transphobia and oppression show up in our lives, and therefore must shape the strategies we use to achieve justice,” said Kris Hayashi, Executive Director of Transgender Law Center. “There is no better person to lead Transgender Law Center’s new generation of programs designed to empower those members of our communities most impacted by oppression to build collective power and transform society.”
