The Tucson Mayor and City Council have voted unanimously to oppose SB1045.
Tucson City Councilwoman Karin Uhlich released the following statement to be read at a transgender visibility rally earlier this week.
” Our vote is in keeping with Tucson’s proud legacy of embracing diversity and nondiscrimination. We recognize that no community can succeed in an atmosphere of bigotry, and that, in fact, inclusion enables us to attract the very best and brightest people to live in our great City. We applaud your efforts to defend against all measures which seek to tear us apart rather than unite us. Tucson stands with those who offer courage and compassion.”
