TLC congratulates the city of Long Beach for making the health of their transgender workers a priority. The city’s leadership, including the city manager and vice-mayor, collaborated with local activist Porter Gilberg and other community members to include trans-inclusive benefits in health plans for city employees this week. Long Beach joins the growing list of municipalities that include health benefits for trans workers; other California cities with inclusive benefits include San Francisco and Berkeley.
