Today people of faith are calling on Senators to pass the Employment Non-Discrimination Act. Join in!
Call your Senators and urge them to support workplace protections for all.
The Employment Non-Discrimination Act (S.815/H.R.1755) is a common-sense solution that will prohibit discrimination in the workplace against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.
- ENDA conforms to our core religious belief that everyone is created in the image of the Divine, and to our fundamental American ideals of equality and fairness, which is why more than 73% of Americans support such legislation.
- ENDA ensures that all people are measured the same way in the workforce – based on their qualifications for the job and the work they do. ENDA is about leveling the playing field, not creating “special rights.”
- ENDA makes good business sense: 88% of Fortune 500 companies already have policies prohibiting discrimination against gay and lesbian employees in their workplaces, and 57% also protect transgender employees.
- Concerns about religious freedom should not prevent support of this landmark legislation because ENDA contains a broad religious exemption.
When you call your Senators, let them know that you are calling as a member of the faith community, and emphasize those of the policies that you support.
