A photo of Governor Brewer with the text 'Tell Governor Brewer: Veto Discrmination, Veto SB1062'The Arizona legislature passed a bill last week that would give businesses a right to refuse service to LGBT people (or anyone) based upon personal religious beliefs.  For example, a hotel or restaurant or taxi could simply refuse service to LGBT people based on his or her religious beliefs and have an affirmative defense in any action brought by an individual or government.

Governor Jan Brewer has until THIS FRIDAY act on this discriminatory bill.   If passed into law in Arizona, this discriminatory legislation will be continue to be introduced in other states.  Similar bills have already been introduced and failed in Ohio, Mississippi, Idaho, South Dakota, Tennessee and Oklahoma.
