On Thursday, January 30th, Transgender Law Center hosted a Transgender Health Care Advocacy Resources Webinar in partnership with the Harvard Law School’s Center for Health Law and Policy Innovation. The workshop takes participants through the kind of barriers that trans people go through, especially those who are marginalized like trans people in the South and trans incarcerated people.
As explained by our Southern regional organizer Kayla Gore, “Quality health care is a basic human right. It’s one that everyone deserves and should be able to access within their hometowns and not have to go a hundred miles just to get gender-affirming care. Few things are as foundational as being able to get care you need, in the way that you need it, and when you need it. The good news is change is possible. I know what it looks like and feels like to have affirming care.”
