Transgender Law Center remembers the life of a pioneer in trans, lesbian and worker rights and their intersectionality. Leslie Feinberg, author of Stone Butch Blues, which won the Lambda Literary Award, passed today. Masen Davis, Executive Director states:
“So sad. I still remember the first time I read Stone Butch Blues. There’s not doubt but that Leslie’s writing inspired my trans activism – and that of a whole generation. What a loss.”
Feinberg described hirself as a “white, working class, secular Jewish, transgender lesbian.” Feinberg preferred the use of “ze/hir” pronouns. Hir last words were reported to be “Remember me as a revolutionary communist.”
