Dads Let Them Shine
A toolkit for dads ready to take on the bullies and make sure all kids, transgender or not, grow up happy, healthy, and confident.
Every kid deserves someone in their corner.
For many of us, our dads were the first people who made us feel seen, loved, and understood. Through their actions, they taught us the values of perseverance, courage, and respect.
Today, families are navigating rising costs, uncertainty about the future, and increasing pressure from politicians and billionaires who are trying to divide our communities and single out transgender young people.
But dads across the country are choosing something different: showing up for their kids and their communities.
Dads have the power to make a difference
You don’t need to be an expert on transgender issues or a seasoned organizer to take action. You just need to care about making sure every kid has the opportunity to thrive.
Dads Let Them Shine is a practical toolkit for dads, parents, families, and allies who want to bring people together, start honest conversations, and take action in support of transgender young people.
The toolkit will help you:
Start where you are
Some of the most meaningful organizing happens between people who already know and trust each other.
That might mean talking with another dad at your kid’s soccer game. Inviting neighbors over for a backyard barbecue. Organizing a pickup basketball game. Showing up at a school board meeting. Writing to your local newspaper. Or simply having a conversation with someone who has questions about transgender people.
You don’t have to agree on everything to start a conversation. What matters is creating space for curiosity, respect, and the shared belief that every young person deserves to know they belong.
Let them shine
All of us, Black, white or brown, Native or newcomer, transgender or not, deserve to shine bright as our true selves without being forced to dim our light.
When a kid needs someone in their corner, dads show up.
