(Washington, D.C.) – Congressman Kennedy, Congresswoman Bass, Congresswoman Jayapal, the Congressional LGBT Equality Caucus, Black LGBTQIA+ Migrant Project, Familia: Trans Queer Liberation Movement, and Transgender Law Center are hosting a congressional briefing on the experiences of LGBTQ migrants on May 23rd.
The briefing will offer a nuanced discussion starting with the conditions LGBTQ migrants face in their home countries to what life in the United States is like after surviving detention. It will center on the unique challenges transgender and Black LGBTQ migrants navigate.
